About the Photographer: Kim Schmidt
Relationships and the people with whom you build them. Those are the most important things in life, and my passion lies in documenting those cherished moments for generations to come. Relationships with family.
Relationships with friends. Relationships with God. Whether taking a picture of a child, a bride, an event or even an object, I capture the personality of my subject in those candid, precious moments.
I desire to convey a message of hope and beauty through every shot I take. My photography is always evolving, yet a constant theme is that of celebrating life; whether the joys in life bring us happiness or the trials bring us pain, we are blessed to be able to experience all that life has to offer.
My passion for photography was ignited in 2007 while shooting a Mekong River cultural celebration at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington, D.C. Having been born along the Mekong River in Laos, the connection was made between two passions deep in my heart. Through the encouragement of my husband, family and friends, I took a leap of faith to pursue this passion and launched my photography business that same year.
I am available to photograph events, weddings, commercial pieces and portraits. I also have a variety of fine arts prints and greeting cards to choose from. On any given day, you may find me around Richmond with my Canon DSLR camera doing what I was created to do and feeling God’s pleasure.
